Daily Violations on Human Rights, December 2011


This report records violations including arrests, medical negligence, sentences and releases in the West Bank during the period between 10 and 30 of December. Many of these mentioned are Hamas linked.

Medical Negligence:

The prisons administrations deprived prisoner Zuhair Lubadeh from Dialysis for 6 consecutive days regardless to his critical status;
Dr. Yusuf Abdulhaq, 67 years, was conveyed to hospital of Ramlah Prison due to deterioration of his health condition.

Sentences:
Military Zionist courts issued sentences of administrative detention against Palestinian prisoners as follows:
Nasser Abu Aziz: 3 months;
Abdullah Afif Zakarneh: 3 months;
Fada’ Rauof Zughaibi: 6 months;
Alam Sami Massad: 6 moths;
Silah and his sister Samah Abdullah Zughaibi: 4 months;

Ofer Prison court sentenced prisoner
Bushra At-Tawil 16 months and a fine of 20,000 NIS and 10 months suspended sentence for five years.
Salem military court sentenced Shaikh Tariq Qadan of Jenin for 15 months.

Releases:

Ayed Khalil Hersheh, Tulkarm, a freed prisoner in Wafaa El-Ahrar deal, he was sentenced on lifetime and spent 22 years in occupation jails.
Abdullah Al-Kurd, of Dair Balah in Gaza, after finishing his 7 years sentence;
Mahmud Beraghit of Hebron, spent two and a half years
Mustafa Hamamrah of Bethlehem, spent 14 months in jail.

Sentences:

the Israeli military courts have issued several sentences of administrative detention against:
*Nazih Abu 3on, Hamas leader of Jenin, sentenced 6 months and
*Awadallah Ishteyeh, Hamas leader, of Nablus, sentenced 4 months
the second time respectively for both.
In addition to that, they sentenced
*Abussalam Abu Haija of Jenin for 6 months.
Deputy
*Muhammad Abu Juhaisha, 56, of Hebron, for 4 months and the second time respectively.
They renewed the adminstrative arrest for the second time against
*Sheikh Anwer Harb of Hebron for 4 months and against prisoner
*Muntaser Abu Qbaiteh, of Hebron, for 6 months.
The court of Ofer Prison have sentenced
*Dr. Adnan Abu Tebaneh, Hamas leader of Hebron, to 6 months of administrative arrest immediately after finishing his original sentence which lasted for 8 months.
The central court of occupied Jerusalem has decided postponing the trial of lawyer
*Shirin Issawi with her two brothers:
*Midhat and
*Ra’fat for the next month.
Ofer court reduced the admin arrest sentence from 6 months to 3 months for the former deputy on Fatah movement,
*Hussam Khedir, of Balata Camp in Nablus.
The Israeli Magistrate’s Court issued sentences against three citizens of Jerusalem:
*Zuhair Khedir Rajbi, sentenced one year of actual imprisonment; his brother, *Fuad, sentenced 7 months and their nephew,
*Faris, sentenced 6 months.

Isolation and Suppression of Prisoners:

Isolated Prisoners for seven days:
*Bassam Abdurrahman Abu Sekir,
*Ali Hassan Soman and
*Hassan Hassanain Shokeh.
The management of Naqab Desert Prison transferred
*Ra’fat Nasif, Hamas leader, from Naqab Prison to Nafha Desert Prison.

The occupation still detains three prisoners of Gaza classified as illegal competent despite the fact that they have finished their sentences.

They are:
*Osameh Hajaj Zerisi,
*Mahmud Kamel Sarsek and
*Seiyd Mustafa Abu Jelaleh.

Releases:
The Israeli occupation forces released 550 prisoners through Shalit prisoners swap deal.
They released other prisoners including
*Muhammad Khalil Abu Jamous, 29, of Khan Younus, Gaza,
after 4 year imprisonment.
They released
*Huzaifah Jerrar
after 4 months of imprisonment,
*Hamzah Yusuf Kefayah, of Baitoniyah, Ramallah,
after 11 months of imprisonment.

Isolation and Suppression

*Yasser Abu Baker, leader of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades,
Shatta Prison under solitary confinement without any given reasons. He has been detained for nine years, he still has to face three sentences on lifetime and additional forty years.

*Sheik Khader Adnan, leader of Islamic Jihad movement,

continues his hunger strike for more than 19 days in Jalamah interrogation center.

Prisoners of An-Naqab / Negev Desert Prison

confirmed that they are confronting with practices and savage attacks by the management including threats, suppression and torture especially after becoming the new manager. Alan Bordeh which has a history of torturing prisoners in Nafha and Ramonn Prisons.

Transferring Popular Front prisoner

*Jamal El-Hindi, of Qalqilya, sentenced to 20 years, from Eishel Prison to Ramon.

An-Naqab Prison management prevented sons of prisoner

*Jihad Muhammad Samr, of Hebron, sentenced 16 years, from family visits.

Sentences

The occupation forces prolonged, in Salem Camp, detention against some prisoners including
*Yazan Nesfat Jarar, of Jenin, for the eighth time successively,
*Fatmah Dawabsha, of Doma, Nablus; her detention is prolonged for ten days and her brother, 19 years old, for one week.

The occupation forces renewed the administrative detention against several prisoners; they are Deputies at the Palestinian Legislative Council, of the Change and Reform Bloc in Hebron,

*Khalil Rabaai and
*Muhammad Tal
for six months for.
*Nimer Yusuf Rjoub, of Hebron,
for two months and the seventh time.
They renewed detention of
*Iyad Abdullmajeed Shabaneh for six months,
*Muhanad Muhammad Siaj for four months.

"Some" other prisoners were given administrative detention

*Zakaria Nahas, human rights activist,
for six months and thedeputy of Ramallah,
*Ayman Daraghmah for six months.

*Muhammad Taha, 23, of Jerusalem,

was sentenced tofour years and additional ten thousand NIS fine for throwing stones on Zionists and injuring two of them.

Releases

The occupation authority released
*Muhammad Mansour, 42 years, of Tulkarem, after detention for eight months. *Baha Yasish, of Nablus after arresting him two weeks ago; he was detained several times before.
